The Ladies of SCORE Organization

Christian women serving as a beacon of light in the Kankakee, Illinois, area since 1974.

The first meeting of a group of Black women convened August 6, 1974 as the formerly named SCORE Organization for the purpose of being a beacon of light in the Kankakee area. We organized with the idea of offering activities and programs to our community that are socially, culturally, religiously and educationally oriented. From our stated objectives we named our organization SCORE. The name was officially changed to Ladies of SCORE on July 26, 2007.
